COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Spectrum News today announced the launch of Spectrum News Tennessee, bringing its award-winning local journalism to the Spectrum TV lineup. Now available to Spectrum TV customers across the state on channel 1, Spectrum News Tennessee is available 24/7, and features local headlines every 15 minutes, and hyperlocal weather forecasts every 10 minutes on the 1s. The network also is available to Spectrum customers via the Spectrum News App on mobile, Xumo Stream Box, Roku and Apple TV.

“Tennessee is the best place to live, work, and raise a family, and we welcome Spectrum News to our state,” said Governor Bill Lee. “We appreciate the company's commitment to keeping communities across Tennessee informed and congratulate Spectrum News on its launch."

Rebecca Walters has been named Executive Producer, returning to Spectrum News after beginning her career as a producer at Spectrum News 1 in Kentucky in 2018. She also served as Executive Producer at KJRH in Tulsa, Oklahoma, spending four years at the network.

“My experience at Spectrum News showed me first-hand how local, reliable and community-focused journalism can make a difference,” said Walters. “Tennesseans can expect coverage that reflects their voices and concerns, connecting them to issues shaping their neighborhoods.”

Also joining Spectrum News Tennessee is Corinne Piorkowski, who will report on the Knoxville area. Piorkowski is a recent University of Texas at Austin graduate who also participated in the Spectrum News Fellowship newsroom training program for aspiring journalists this past year.

Spectrum News Tennessee serves Spectrum customers with reporters embedded in key communities throughout the state, with a focus on Jackson, Johnson City, Knoxville, Nashville and surrounding communities; providing coverage that reflects and is informed by the issues that matter most to local viewers.
