May marks the one-year anniversary of Spectrum Noticias, the Spanish-language news network of Spectrum News. Serving Spectrum customers across the country and delivering localized news feeds in New York City, Los Angeles, Texas and Florida, Spectrum Noticias features 24 hours of continuous news from journalists embedded in local communities and Washington, D.C., providing relevant stories from across the country.

“Spectrum Noticias brings a new approach to Spanish-language news by centering on community-focused coverage, real stories, and the everyday issues that matter most to Latinos in the U.S.,” said María Rozman, Spectrum Noticias Senior News Director. “After one year of operation, industry peers have recognized the quality of our reporting, and we have become a trusted resource for viewers who rely on us for objective coverage during major live events and severe weather, as well as for national stories that resonate with local communities.”

Spectrum Noticias has already won three national awards; a Gold Telly Award in the General Biography category for “Celia Cruz: The Unseen Chronicles,” a Silver Telly in the Series-Public Interest & Awareness category for the “Flooded: From Rain to Hurricane” specials, and the GLAAD Award for Outstanding TV Journalism for a Pride Month special. Spectrum Noticias recently won a Regional New York Edward R. Murrow Award in the category of News Documentary for its Celia Cruz special, and also was nominated for a national Emmy Award for Outstanding News Program in Spanish.

Over the past year, Spectrum Noticias has been at the forefront of coverage during a number of major events, including the New York City mayoral debates and escalating tensions in Venezuela. Most recently, the network hosted special live coverage of the Artemis II launch and Spectrum customers responded with a viewership increase of more than 90% across the country, including more than 200% in Orlando and Tampa.*

Strategically embedded in Latino-dense communities, Spectrum Noticias journalists were on the ground to cover the one-year anniversary of the Los Angeles fires and recovery efforts following the flooding in Kerrville, Texas. Additionally, the network has aired specials celebrating Hispanic culture, including the centennial celebration of Latin singer Celia Cruz, “Más Bello Vivir Cantando: 100 Años de Celia.”

The network’s engagement among viewers continues to climb, with nearly one-third of Spectrum’s Spanish-tier subscribers consistently tuning in each month. Leveraging reporters from across the country, Spectrum Noticias captures important stories that resonate and inform Spanish-speaking audiences.

“Spectrum Noticias is just getting started,” added Rozman. “As we expand our presence in the communities we serve, we will continue to deepen and provide the impactful and meaningful stories that are relevant to Spanish-speaking viewers across the country.”

*Spectrum set-top box and streaming data is sourced from all markets where Spectrum News and Spectrum Noticias are distributed. A minimum of five consecutive minutes of viewing is required for inclusion as a viewing household of any network (eg ABC, CNN, Spectrum News, etc).
