Spectrum combines its network capabilities and advanced technology to create Seamless Connectivity and Entertainment experiences. Danny Bowman, the Company’s Executive Vice President, Product, shapes these efforts by overseeing all Spectrum products, including Internet, WiFi, Mobile, Video and Voice.

Danny discusses Spectrum’s product strategy and how his team delivers reliable connectivity, creates value for customers and continuously innovates.

1. How does our Seamless Connectivity experience make customers’ lives better every day?

Let’s start by defining Seamless Connectivity, which combines the fastest speeds of Spectrum Internet and WiFi* with our Mobile service to create a converged wireless connectivity experience. This provides our customers with a far superior, faster, more reliable connection especially in homes and businesses where traditional cellular networks struggle at a greater value. Why is that? Nearly 90% of Spectrum Mobile traffic goes over our WiFi network, which offers improved stability, reduced latency and increased cost effectiveness compared to a cellular network. This also means Mobile customers experience the benefits of our ongoing network investments. Whether our customers are at home or on the go, they want their connectivity to work. It doesn’t matter if they’re working from home, video chatting on a road trip or downloading a show to watch on a flight, with the fastest, most reliable internet, Seamless Connectivity from Spectrum means customers can count on us.

2. We recently launched Invincible WiFi, which has an integrated backup network that keep customers connected. How does it work?

Invincible WiFi - which by the way, has already been named the “Best In-Home WiFi Product” - is an incredible product available to both residential and business customers that integrates our WiFi 7 router with battery power and 5G backup. If a power outage happens, the backup battery unit keeps the router up and running and the connection automatically switches to 5G cellular, creating a seamless experience that keeps customers’ battery-powered devices connected for up to eight hours. Life doesn’t wait for your connection to come back, so reliability like that has real-world benefits for every customer.

3. Spectrum Mobile has created real momentum. How do we keep it up?

We have to stay ahead of the curve and differentiate ourselves. Our Spectrum Mobile Network is a great example of how we’re doing this. It lets customers connect to nearly 50 million WiFi access points across the country to improve connectivity in homes and businesses and deliver faster speeds than the typical cellular network. Our Unlimited Plus plan also includes Anytime Upgrade so customers can upgrade their phones whenever they want without the traditional wait times and restrictions. That’s another approach for creating more value and convenience for customers.

4. What is Seamless Entertainment and how does it fit into our overall product strategy?

The video transformation we’ve seen over the past few years has been significant, and it all starts with how people consume content. Our Seamless Entertainment experience provides unmatched choice and flexibility by combining live TV and the most popular streaming apps with a retail value of more than $125 per month at no additional cost.** The Spectrum App Store lets customers activate, manage and upgrade the streaming apps included with their Spectrum TV plans. And Xumo Stream Box, our go-to-market Video platform, ties the experience together. Its intuitive, content-forward interface, AI-driven personalization and universal voice-controlled remote make it easy for customers to find exactly what they want to watch. As customers increasingly activate included apps in The Spectrum App Store and engage with Xumo, the script is flipping with Video, making it a way to enhance the value of our Fiber-Powered Internet and Mobile bundle that strengthens connectivity relationships, improves Internet retention and helps drive Mobile growth.

5. Our position as the most reliable Internet provider*** is a significant competitive advantage. How does your team maintain that reliability while delivering innovative products and services?

Our industry-first Customer Commitment is built around reliability because if customers pay for our products and services, they should work all the time. End of story. So even though we’re constantly innovating, constantly finding new ways to keep people connected or provide faster speeds, reliability is our North Star. No matter how well our equipment performs in a customer’s home, we’re always looking for ways to get better. We know we haven’t reached our potential, and that’s motivating. Day to day getting better means being proactive so we can identify and address issues before customers even notice them.
