Spectrum Fiber Techs Master Intricate Network Repairs
Share Article:
Spectrum’s Fiber Broadband Network helps you stay in touch with friends and family, stream your favorite shows or play video games online. It also provides fast, reliable connectivity to critical and emergency services like 911 dispatchers, police and fire departments, hospitals, and educational institutions.
Unfortunately, accidents, road construction, severe weather events and the surge in criminal critical infrastructure attacks can disrupt service for Spectrum customers. When that happens, the Company’s expert technicians begin restoration efforts, which often include splicing together individual fibers found in the network’s physical plant. It’s intricate work comparable to braiding two strands of hair or matching pieces of boxed spaghetti that have been broken in half.
“This job really does require a lot of skill and knowledge – a lot of experience, too.” said Nichole Pederson, one of Spectrum’s fiber technicians in Texas. “The more experience you have, the easier this job gets.”
That mix of care, skill and dedication, bolstered by the Company’s robust investment in training and development, prepares Nichole and her peers for anything – and keeps Spectrum customers connected.
