FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — Spectrum, the #1 rural internet provider in the nation*, today announced the expansion of Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 4,200 homes and small businesses in previously unserved or underserved addresses in portions of Jefferson County, Wisconsin.
Our multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Charter and will ultimately add an additional 100,000+ miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speed internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.
“Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities in Wisconsin and across America,” said Matt Brown, Area Vice President of Field Operations, Wisconsin, Spectrum. “Our investment is providing residents and small businesses superior connectivity at highly competitive prices, backed by a team of skilled local technicians and 100% U.S.-based customer service.”
Broadband Speeds up to 1 Gbps, Plus Money-Saving Mobile Options and 85,000 On Demand Choices
Spectrum Internet delivers speeds up to 1 Gbps and Advanced WiFi for residential and small business customers, featuring starting speeds of 500 Mbps, with no modem fees, data caps or contracts. Spectrum Business Internet offers customers the option of 500 Mbps and 1 Gbps download speeds. The company has also begun a network evolution that will provide gigabit upstream speeds and multiple gigabit download speeds across its entire 41-state service area.
“Charter’s activation of broadband service to over 4,200 new addresses in Jefferson County is a significant step forward in expanding rural broadband,” said U.S. Representative Scott Fitzgerald. “This expansion, driven by private investment and the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) program initiated during the previous Trump Administration, will help improve connectivity in rural areas. Ensuring reliable internet access for our rural communities remains a key priority of mine, and I’m encouraged by the progress we’re seeing in Wisconsin.”
“Expanding access to the internet services our residents and communities need has been one of my priorities since I was on the County Board,” said State Senator Melissa Ratcliff. “In order to address internet inequalities across the district we need strong partnership. I’m pleased to see the support from Spectrum for this expansion in Jefferson County and look forward to continuing this progress.”
“With Spectrum’s help, we have expanded high-speed internet access to more than 4,000 additional rural homes and businesses in Jefferson County,” said Michael Luckey, Jefferson County Administrator. “This investment will bring much-needed services here and help businesses across the county compete in the digital age.”
Spectrum Internet exceeded advertised download and upload speeds for all tiers measured — even during peak weeknight usage between 7 and 11 p.m. — according to the FCC’s most recent “Measuring Broadband America Fixed Broadband Report.”
Along with multiple broadband options, Spectrum services now available also include Spectrum Mobile™ and Spectrum TV®.
