Spectrum Launches High-Speed Internet to More Than 2,000 Homes and Small Businesses in Osceola County, Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Spectrum is marking a major milestone in Osceola County, Florida, as its network expansion nears completion. Spectrum Internet, with speeds up to 1 Gig, Mobile, TV and Voice services are now available to more than 2,000 homes and small businesses.

The expansion in Osceola County is part of Spectrum’s multi-year rural construction initiative. Driven by more than $7 billion in private investment, Spectrum will add more than 100,000 miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speed Internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.

On July 24 at 9:30 a.m. at the Clubhouse at Buen Vecino, 250 Buen Vecino Dr, Kissimmee, FL, Spectrum will present a $15,000 Beyond the Build Digital Education grant to Osceola Council on Aging, supporting the organization’s mission to increase digital literacy and technology access for older adults.

“Technology is advancing rapidly, and older adults deserve the tools, training and support needed to keep pace,” said Wendy Ford, President and CEO of the Osceola Council on Aging. “This generous grant from Spectrum will help us provide Buen Vecino residents with access to technology and practical digital education so they can confidently connect with healthcare providers, access essential services and remain engaged in their community. We are grateful to Spectrum and Commissioner Ricky Booth for investing in resources that will help our seniors remain informed, connected and independent.”

The day’s program includes a ribbon cutting for Buen Vecino and the Buen Vecino Digital Learning Lab. The lab will provide residents with access to technology and instructor-led digital literacy training, empowering them to confidently navigate healthcare portals, telehealth services, Medicare and Social Security resources, and online safety.
