Spectrum Brings its State-of-the-Art Network With Gigabit Broadband, Mobile, TV and Voice to East Cleveland

Spectrum’s Full Suite of Internet, TV, Mobile and Voice Services Now Available, Including Gigabit Connections for Residents and Small Businesses

CLEVELAND – Spectrum today announced the launch of Spectrum Internet® and the full suite of Spectrum services for residential customers and small business clients in East Cleveland. Gigabit broadband speeds are now available to over 9,000 homes and small businesses, following the acquisition of the cable system from Windspeed Broadband, LLC in December 2021.

Spectrum’s high-bandwidth, low-latency network means local residents now have access to gigabit connections with Spectrum Internet, which includes starting internet speeds of 200 Mbps with no modem fees, data caps or contracts. Spectrum Internet Ultra, which features download speeds up to 400 Mbps, is also available to residential customers. For small and medium-sized businesses, Spectrum Business® offers gigabit connections, with starting speeds of 200 Mbps and a 600 Mbps option.

“Access to high-speed internet for all Ohioans has been a priority for my administration,” said Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine. “I’ve worked with East Cleveland Mayor King for several years to ensure his community has 100% access. Charter’s announcement is another step toward that goal and a win for residents of East Cleveland.”

“When we became aware of Spectrum’s eventual purchase of Windspeed (formerly East Cleveland Cable), it was very exciting news.” stated Brandon L. King, Mayor, East Cleveland. “The quality products and services provided by Spectrum that other communities enjoy is now available to all East Cleveland residents. Many large ISPs operating in Ohio avoid offering services to disadvantaged communities and neighborhoods. Spectrum’s purchase of Windspeed, and their services being offered community-wide shatters the notion of national providers avoiding lower income communities, and for that, I say, ‘Welcome to East Cleveland, Spectrum.’”

Current Windspeed customers have received notification that they will need new modems to receive service through Spectrum, and will automatically transition into the appropriate Spectrum Internet plan.  Those participating in the Affordability Connectivity Program will not have to re-apply. The majority of customers will be transitioned into starting speeds of 200Mbps, more than doubling their previous top download speed.

“We have a consistent track record of investing in our network to provide high-value broadband, TV, mobile and voice services,” said John Higgins, Regional Vice President of Field Operations at Spectrum. “We are now delivering superior connectivity to residents and businesses in East Cleveland at highly competitive prices, backed by an organization committed to craftsmanship and service.”

The new Spectrum TV® brings extensive programming lineups to the area, with more than 125 HD channels and a two-way, fully interactive network providing access to over 85,000 On Demand movies and shows. Spectrum TV customers can also download the award-winning Spectrum TV App, which allows users to stream content across a growing number of platforms, including iOS and Android phones and tablets, Xbox, Kindle Fire, Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV 4K, Google Chromecast and PCs. Spectrum TV customers also have exclusive access to Spectrum Originals, a premier destination for premium original series, available on-demand and ad-free.

Spectrum Mobile is available exclusively to Spectrum Internet customers. Combining the fastest overall speeds* with the best devices and a choice of Unlimited or By the Gig data plans, Spectrum Mobile provides customers the highest-quality experience at great value, including access to nationwide 5G. Customers can bring their own phone or choose from among the latest mobile devices and accessories.

Home phone service through Spectrum Voice® provides unlimited calling in the U.S, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico; up to 28 popular calling features, including Call Guard, which helps block unwanted robocalls; and no added phone taxes or fees.
