RANDOLPH, Wis. – Spectrum joined Wisconsin PSC Chairwoman Rebecca Cameron Valcq and state Rep. Jon Plumer today to celebrate the completion of a $1.1 million network expansion project that brings gigabit internet speeds and the full suite of Spectrum services to residential customers and small business clients in the Village of Randolph.
As part of Wisconsin’s Broadband Expansion Grant Program, Spectrum was awarded approximately $100,000 in funds to expand services to almost 775 homes in the Village of Randolph. Spectrum made a significant private investment of more than $1 million into the project.
“Wisconsin’s Broadband Expansion Grant program is a great tool to help us expand broadband access to underserved communities by supporting strong partnerships between municipalities and providers, such as Spectrum and the Village of Randolph,” said Cameron Valcq. “We’re pleased the grant awarded to Spectrum for the Village of Randolph has resulted in almost 775 homes and business having the high-speed broadband connections they need to improve the quality of their lives.”
“Wisconsin’s rural and small town communities have so much to offer, and the completion of this broadband expansion project further strengthens the Village of Randolph by providing its residents and businesses with reliable and fast broadband that is so important in today’s society,” said Plumer.
“Charter is appreciative to the Governor, Legislature and PSC for making the funds available to continue expanding broadband in the state through the Wisconsin grant program,” said Gary Underwood, group vice president of state government affairs for Spectrum. “Working together on strong regulatory and fiscal broadband policy will support and encourage this continued investment.”
