Spectrum News+ and Spectrum Noticias Deliver Live Coverage of Independence Day Events for America 250
As the United States marks 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, Spectrum News is commemorating the milestone with special programming that explores what it means to be American today.
At the heart of Spectrum News’ America 250 coverage is a 90-minute special produced and hosted by anchor Tim Boyum, who embarked on a 6,000-mile journey across 24 states and Washington D.C. to rediscover the American spirit. Boyum visited communities across the country, capturing the stories, experiences and perspectives that shape our understanding of freedom, unity and identity.
“Seeing all the differences across the country made me realize that being American is about being free to be who we are, while embracing our geographical and cultural differences,” said Boyum. “I found that Americans are yearning to be united, but there’s uncertainty on how to get there. I think it begins with understanding that freedom and being an American means something different to everyone, and we should embrace that.”
