Wisconsin Photographer Captures Moments That Matter With Spectrum

Photographer and entrepreneur Kaley Rae is in the business of helping people make lifelong memories. Documenting moments that change her clients’ lives requires a blend of passion, creativity and reliable connectivity.

“I found my mom’s old digital camera as a young girl and immediately fell in love,” said Kaley. “At 14, I started snapping pictures of flowers and antiques because they inspired me. Today, that spark has grown into an award-winning business.”

With Spectrum’s high-speed and secure Internet, nearly 80% of Kaley’s work – from editing to gallery delivery – happens from her 185-year-old farmhouse in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, a small town about 30 miles outside Madison.

Kaley’s community was connected in 2024 as part of Spectrum’s Rural Construction Initiative, a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar investment that will add more than 100,000 miles of infrastructure to the Spectrum Fiber Broadband Network, delivering gigabit-speed internet access to more than 1.7 million currently unserved, mostly rural homes and small businesses across the country.

Photographer Kaley Rae relies on fast, reliable Spectrum Internet for her photography business.

Spectrum Internet’s reliability and symmetrical speeds support the demands of modern photography like managing large files. Each client session includes thousands of high-resolution images, with individual files exceeding 25 megabytes and full galleries reaching up to 25 gigabytes. Fast upload speeds mean Kaley can provide eager customers with images quickly and easily.

Kaley’s business focuses on an array of subjects from weddings to family and senior portraits. Spectrum Internet remains a cornerstone of her operations as work ebbs and flows with the ever-changing seasons of life. Spectrum’s ongoing investment in rural broadband infrastructure helps entrepreneurs like Kaley across the country overcome digital barriers and build sustainable businesses.

“Expanding Spectrum’s broadband network has given more people across Wisconsin access to unlimited opportunity,” said John Higgins, Spectrum’s Regional Vice President of Field Operations in the Great Lakes. “Our services are helping individuals and businesses fully participate in the digital world, whether they live in a small town or one of the state’s biggest cities.”
