A cable industry veteran with 24 years of experience, Mr. Williams most recently served as Group Vice President, Access Network Operations since 2022. In that role, he led the company’s deployment priorities including installation and operations of the fiber access network as part of the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) and other rural state and local government subsidized fiber deployments, helping to establish Spectrum as the largest and fastest-growing rural internet provider in the nation1. He also managed early implementation of the Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) virtual Cable Modem Termination System with Remote PHY (vCMTS/RPHY) solution.

Mr. Williams joined the cable industry in 2000 as Senior Systems Engineer for Time Warner Cable and has progressed with increasingly larger roles in network operations, planning and design. Following the 2016 merger between Charter Communications, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks, he was charged with combining the three legacy access network teams into a single organization while leading the company’s DOCSIS 3.1 implementation.

Prior to joining the cable industry, Mr. Williams held engineering and systems analyst roles at FedEx and IBM. He previously served on the national board of SCTE (Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers) and holds a Bachelor of Science in communications media from Appalachian State University.
