GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Spectrum, the #1 rural internet provider in the nation*, today announced the launch of Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 5,100 homes and businesses across Scott County, Kentucky.

Our multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum and will ultimately add an additional 100,000+ miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speeds to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.

“Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities in Kentucky and across America,” said Heather Day, Area Vice President for Spectrum’s Kentucky Management Area. “Our investment is making it possible to deliver the high-value broadband, mobile, TV and voice services now available in Scott County. We are providing residents and small businesses superior connectivity at highly competitive prices, backed by a team of skilled local technicians and 100% U.S.-based customer service.”

The completed broadband expansion in Scott County makes multi-gigabit speeds available to customers, as part of the company’s first county-wide project in the Midwest Region. Spectrum invested more than $15.3 million in the projects, with more than $3 million coming through funding from a National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) award. Scott County officials assisted with securing necessary utility and railroad permits throughout the multi-year expansion.

“This transformational project hasn’t just been about connectivity—it’s about opportunity. From students learning at home to farmers using precision technology, broadband brings the future and opportunity to every corner of Scott County,” said Scott County Judge Executive Joe Covington. “The completion of our countywide broadband project marks a milestone for us, and thanks to our partnership with Spectrum and CTC Technology, over 5,100 rural homes and businesses now have access to reliable high-speed internet and our existing network realized a significant upgrade.”

Judge Covington also expressed his gratitude to Scott County Magistrates for taking a forward-looking approach to the issue of broadband expansion and the lasting impact it will have on the county for decades to come.
