FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. — Spectrum, the #1 rural internet provider in the nation*, today announced the launch of Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 410 homes and small businesses in rural areas of Floyd County, Indiana.
Spectrum’s multi-year Rural Construction Initiative is an investment of approximately $9 billion – partly offset by over $2 billion in government support funding – that will ultimately connect approximately 1.75 million new homes and small businesses across the country.
This network expansion project in Floyd County was funded through a variety of sources, including private investment made by Spectrum, grant funding through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF), State funding through a Next Level Connections Round 3 Grant and funding contributed the by the County.
“Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities in Indiana and across America,” said Heather Day, Area Vice President for Spectrum’s Kentucky and Indiana service areas. “Our investment is making it possible to deliver the high-value broadband, mobile, TV and voice services now available in Floyd County. We are providing local residents and small businesses superior connectivity at highly competitive prices, backed by a team of skilled local technicians and 100% U.S.-based customer service.”

“Through my work championing the next level connections program in the statehouse, improving broadband access in rural communities is one of my top priorities as a lawmaker in Congress,” said Congresswoman Erin Houchin. “Charter’s investment and commitment to reaching unserved areas in Floyd County will help bridge the digital divide and open doors to new opportunities. I’m proud to support efforts that keep our communities connected and competitive, bringing the benefits of broadband to every corner of our district.”
“In today’s digital age, broadband is vital to the growth and economic success of communities across Indiana,” said State Senator Gary Byrne. “Thanks to this partnership with Spectrum, homes and businesses across Floyd County will now be connected to high-speed internet— allowing them to take advantage of a range of digital tools."
