GREAT FALLS, Mont. — Spectrum, the #1 rural internet provider in the nation*, today announced the expansion of its fiber broadband network, making Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services available to more than 1,200 additional homes and small businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of Cascade County, Montana, including the communities of Ulm and Vaughn.
Spectrum’s multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum and will ultimately add more than 100,000 miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical, multi-gigabit speeds to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.

The expansion was funded in part by a grant through the Montana Broadband Office’s ConnectMT Program. ConnectMT was established through legislation signed into law by Gov. Greg Gianforte to support broadband deployment in areas of the state in need of improved connectivity. The program is supported in part by federal funding provided to Montana through the American Rescue Plan Act’s Capital Projects Fund.

Spectrum Internet exceeded advertised download and upload speeds for all tiers measured — even during peak weeknight usage between 7 and 11 p.m. — according to the FCC’s most recent “Measuring Broadband America Fixed Broadband Report.”
On September 23, Spectrum joined Gov. Gianforte, Senator Josh Kassmier, local leaders and community members for a ribbon-cutting event at Ag Processing Solutions, Inc. to celebrate the expansion and the new connectivity available to Cascade County residents and businesses.
