Spectrum Digital Education Grant Helps St. Louis Community Center Rebuild After Devastating Tornado

Share Article:

Nearly one year after a severe tornado struck north St. Louis, a long standing community center has reopened its doors. Wesley House Association was one of 5,000 buildings damaged by the storm that left lasting scars across the city, but a Spectrum Digital Education Grant has helped the agency resume its work with children, adults and seniors.

The food pantry returned in October, and senior services, which include computer classes, followed two months later. This summer, youth camps will welcome families once again.

A longtime Spectrum Digital Education partner, Wesley House has received $53,000 in grants, as well as laptops and other resources, in recent years. Spectrum’s latest $15,000 contribution helped the center rebuild its computer lab, providing the community with access to vital resources.

“This grant couldn’t have come at a better time,” said John Saunders, Jr. Executive Director of Wesley House Association. “It’s not just about replacing equipment – it’s about restoring hope and giving our community the digital tools needed to move forward again.”
