Spectrum to Rekindle Holiday Yule Log Channels and Wrap Up 2023 With Seasonal Movie Favorites and the Year’s Best Films for Kids and Grown Ups

Featured Movie Selections Include 'A Christmas Story,' 'The Polar Express' and 'Love Actually' Plus 2023 Blockbusters Including 'Barbie,' 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' and 'Mission Impossible,' Along With Eight Free Channels of Cozy Yule Log Ambiance

Spectrum will celebrate the holidays and wrap up 2023 by rekindling its annual Holiday Yule Log channels and providing its TV customers with access to an extensive selection of holiday-themed movies, seasonal favorites and the best films of the year for free and for rent through Spectrum On Demand.

From now through December 31, Spectrum TV customers looking for some cozy holiday spirit can find it in the Holiday Yule Log On Demand category. The Yule Log category is free for Spectrum video customers and features eight channels of crackling seasonal ambiance, including festive fireplaces, warm piano sounds and presents under the tree.

Free Movies Available On Demand

Spectrum customers can enjoy a variety of free holiday movies depending on their level of service. Free titles available from now through the end of the year include the 1983 classic “A Christmas Story,” about a young boy’s quest for a BB gun starring Peter Billingsley, Melinda Dillon and Darren McGavin; “Christmas With The Kranks,” with Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen; “Eight Crazy Nights,” Adam Sandler’s Hanukkah-themed animated musical; and “This Christmas,” the story of a family that reunites for Christmas and featuring Idris Elba, Loretta Devine and Regina King.

Holiday Movie Favorites

From December 12 through December 25, the Spectrum On Demand portal will feature two categories of holiday-themed movies available for rent. Titles in the Festive Families category include “8-Bit Christmas,” a comedy set in the 1980s about a 10-year-old boy’s quest for a video game, starring Wilson Fegley, Neil Patrick Harris and Steve Zahn; “Rise of the Guardians,” the animated hit about a team of guardians led by Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy to save the planet from darkness; “The Polar Express,” the 2004 adventure fantasy with the voices of Tom Hanks, Josh Hutcherson and Nona Gaye; and “The Star,” a 2017 animated biblical feature starring Steve Yeun, Tyler Perry and Gina Rodriguez.

In the category Under the Mistletoe, Spectrum customers can enjoy a seasonal lineup that includes Danny Glover, Mo’Nique and Gabrielle Union in “Almost Christmas,” the story of a dysfunctional family that comes together following the death of their mother; “Just Friends,” a 2005 romantic comedy starring Ryan Reynolds, Anna Faris and Amy Smart; “Last Holiday,” with Queen Latifah who learns at Christmas she has only weeks to live, and also starring Halle Bailey and LL Cool J; and “Love Actually,” a romantic comedy filled with intertwined stories and featuring Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Keira Knightley and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

Best Movies of 2023 for Kids and Grown Ups

Finally, beginning on December 26 and running through January 8, customers can binge the year’s top films under the Best of 2023 category. Featured movies include the summer blockbuster “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Will Farrell; the superhero hit “Blue Beetle,” starring Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle along with Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Susan Sarandon and George Lopez; and the latest Tom Cruise epic “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One.”

Additionally, the Kids Best of 2023 category from December 26 to January 8 will feature the year’s biggest films for kids, including the animated “Spider-Man Across the Spider Verse,” starring the voices of Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld; “The Little Mermaid,” the live-action adaption of Disney’s classic animated story; and “Under the Boardwalk,” the animated pop-music charmer with voices from Michael Cera, Keke Palmer and Bobby Canavale.
