Spectrum Celebrates Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month With Movies On Demand

Spectrum will observe Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month throughout May by spotlighting an On Demand collection of classic, modern and award-winning movies available for rent and to watch for free.

Depending on their level of Spectrum TV services, customers can access free movies in the AAPI category from May 1 through May 31. Movies available at no extra cost include “Crazy Rich Asians,” the smash 2018 hit starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding; 2017’s “The Namesake,” with Kal Penn and Tabu as first-generation immigrants raising a family in New York City; and “Parasite,” from 2019, which was the first foreign language film to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

Pay movies available for rent in the AAPI category through the end of May include the action classic “Crouching Tiger: Hidden Dragon,” starring Michelle Yeoh and Chow Yun-fat; the sci-fi action adventure “Everything Everywhere All at Once” with Yeoh co-starring with Ke Huy Quan in; and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” with Yeoh, again, along with Simu Liu and Awkwafina.

Featured rentals also include “Minari” starring Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung about a Korean American family building a new life on a farm in Arkansas; “The Green Knight,” the 2021 epic medieval fantasy starring Dev Patel; the 1993 classic “The Joy Luck Club” about mother-daughter relationships; Stephen Chow in the action-packed “Kung Fu Hustle” from 2004; and the 2014 documentary “To Be Takei,” about the life of Star Trek-actor and pop culture icon George Takei.
