MADISON, Wis. – Spectrum announced today a major construction project to expand its network and full suite of services to three rural villages in southern Wisconsin: Monticello, Orfordville and Footville. The company’s network expansion and private investment will bring its high-speed broadband and full suite of Spectrum services to more than 1,100 additional homes and businesses across these rural communities in the coming months.
“Spectrum is pleased to bring our services to the villages of Monticello, Orfordville and Footville,” said Ralph Newcomb, Area Vice President in Wisconsin. “These network buildouts reflect our commitment to bring faster broadband to more residents across Wisconsin communities — many of which are considered rural, with populations under 5,000.”
Spectrum’s network expansion has begun in the Village of Monticello, and residents can sign up for Spectrum services immediately. The second and third phase of Spectrum’s expansion efforts will focus on connecting the villages of Orfordville and Footville, and the company plans to market its services to consumers in these areas in the coming months.
With this network investment, homes and businesses in Monticello, Orfordville and Footville will gain access to the company’s full suite of services, which includes Spectrum Internet®, with starting internet speeds of 200 Mbps, and the option for every home or business served by Charter to upgrade to 400 Mbps service or a 1 gigabit connection. All Spectrum Internet plans have no modem fees, data caps or contracts.
“Projects like this to bring high-speed broadband to rural communities are of critical importance and I commend Spectrum for making an investment in Monticello,” said state Sen. Jon Erpenbach.
State Sen. Janis Ringhand echoed the sentiment. “I’ve participated in listening sessions with constituents outlining the importance and need for broadband. To see plans are in place for Spectrum to serve Orfordville and Footville in the near future is exciting news,” she said.
Spectrum TV® will bring extensive programming lineups to the area, with more than 270 HD channels and a two-way, fully interactive network featuring 18,000 On Demand offerings. Spectrum TV also provides access to the award-winning Spectrum TV App, which allows users to stream content across a growing number of platforms, including iOS and Android phones and tablets, Roku, Xbox, Kindle Fire, Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV 4K and PCs.
Spectrum Mobile™ is available exclusively to Spectrum Internet customers. Offering the best speeds with the best devices, Spectrum Mobile is designed to provide customers the highest quality experience at great value, including access to next-generation 5G service where available. Customers can save up to 40% on a single line with unlimited data compared to other national carriers. They can also bring their own phone or choose from among the latest mobile devices and accessories.
Home phone service through Spectrum Voice® provides unlimited local and long-distance calling and the most popular calling features.
Spectrum’s expansion to these three southern Wisconsin villages complements efforts in recent years to connect communities such as Pardeeville, Fall River and Thorp, as well as the Town of King. Spectrum has an extensive Wisconsin coverage area; serving customers in more than 780 communities — and more than 70 percent of those communities have populations under 5,000. The company employs more than 3,800 employees in the state, and has office locations throughout the state, including call centers in Appleton, Fond du Lac and Milwaukee.
