Marwan Fawaz Named Executive Vice President, Operations and Chief Technology Officer for Charter Communications

Charter Communications, Inc. today announced that Marwan Fawaz has been named Executive Vice President, Operations and Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately.

In this role, Mr. Fawaz will oversee Charter's East and West Operating Groups, Customer Care, Human Resources and the Business Intelligence Group, in addition to continuing to lead Charter's network and technology organizations.

Mr. Fawaz joined Charter in March of 2006 as Chief Technology Officer and has more than 20 years of experience in the broadband communications industry, encompassing engineering, technical operations and business development. He began his career at Times Mirror Cable Television and has held technical and operations positions at Continental Cablevision, MediaOne, Vulcan Inc., and Adelphia Communications.

"Marwan brings to this position a great mix of strategic foresight, technical experience and passion for this industry," said Mike Lovett, Charter's President and Chief Executive Officer. "He has played a critical role in Charter's success and will continue to do so in the future."

Mr. Fawaz holds a BS degree in electrical engineering and MS degree in telecommunications, specializing in satellite communications. He is a longtime member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Mr. Fawaz has been recognized multiple times for his contributions to the industry and soon will be honored as the 2010 Vanguard Award winner in Science & Technology, the industry's highest technology award.
