Broadband Provider to Resell EVault Online Backup and Recovery Service

Emeryville, Calif. – July 26, 2005 – EVault, Inc., the leading online backup and recovery provider, today announced Charter Business™, a unit of Charter Communications® Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR) and a leading provider of business-class broadband services, has entered into an agreement whereby it will resell EVault's online backup and recovery service.

Charter will offer the service, known as Charter Business VaultWorks™, to its small and medium business customers nationwide beginning immediately.

“EVault is a leader in backup and recovery,” said James Henderson, Charter vice president of Strategy and Business Development. “We chose them for their superior and easy-to-use technology, their focus on the small and medium business market segment, and their willingness to tailor a compelling product offering. EVault has built a carrier-class service that scales with our business model and accelerates our ability to provide a cost-effective service to our small and medium business customers.”

Charter Business VaultWorks Data Protection Service is a reliable online backup service that helps businesses protect critical data by automatically storing files at an off-site location on a schedule that they determine. This allows Charter Business customers to be confident that data is consistently backed up and safely stored.

With VaultWorks, Charter Business customers can improve day-to-day operational control of their backup and recovery processes. At scheduled times, the customers' computers scan for files created or altered since the last backup. The changed data is then backed up. The data is compressed and encrypted and then transmitted over Charter's broadband network to a secure data center. Safely off-site, the files are always available online for immediate recovery by the customer.

“Businesses need a reliable backup solution that is easy to use,” said William da Cunha, EVault vice president of alliances. “Leveraging the speed of broadband, Charter Business is now able to deliver fully automated online backup and recovery services to its customers.”
