Charter Launches Spectrum Employee Community Grants
Stamford, Conn. — Charter Communications, Inc., today announced the launch of its newest community-based philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants, designed to support local community organizations nominated by employees who volunteer with them. In the initial phase, 43 community organizations will be funded.
“Through Spectrum Employee Community Grants, we’re proud to provide support to vital community organizations where our local employees are volunteering their time and talent,” said Rahman Khan, Vice President of Community Impact for Charter Communications. “We have a strong and committed employee base, and together we’re building stronger communities where our customers and employees live and work.”
Spectrum Employee Community Grants provides funding to local nonprofits throughout the company’s 41-state service area. Grant recipients deliver critical services to the residents of our community in need and include organizations such as homeless shelters, soup kitchens, job training centers and neighborhood safety groups. Each awardee is nominated by one of the company’s 98,000 employees who has volunteered with the organization for at least one year.
To commemorate the donations, Charter plans to host special recognition ceremonies with leaders from each organization, the nominating Spectrum employee volunteer and local elected officials.
