"I'm pleased we're able to recognize Steve Silva for the success he's achieved in making Charter the envy of the industry as a leader in the deployment of advanced broadband services," said Carl Vogel, president & chief executive officer of Charter.
Mr. Vogel said Mr. Silva has also signed a long-term employment agreement that runs until the end of 2005.
Mr. Silva joined Charter in April 1995 and held numerous management positions in the company before being promoted to Senior
Vice President of Corporate Development & Technology in 1999. A 20-year veteran of the cable television industry, Mr. Silva, prior to joining Charter, served in many roles for Cable Data, including a key responsibility to implement the first interactive service test in the cable industry.
With the announcement of his promotion, Mr. Silva said, "I'm very pleased for this recognition. The reality is that if I didn't already work here, I'd apply for a job! Charter has a culture that rewards those who work hard to ensure its continued success. I'm very pleased to be a part of this team."
