DPI Leader C-COR Picks up Additional Markets from Adelphia, Charter, and Comcast

STATE COLLEGE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2006--C-COR Incorporated (Nasdaq:CCBL - News), a global provider of interoperable solutions that simplify the transition to on demand networks, continues to cement its leading role in digital ad insertion with three major cable operators expanding their deployment of C-COR's digital program insertion (DPI) solution across the U.S. Adelphia Communications, Charter Communications, and Comcast Spotlight are deploying C-COR's DPI in nine additional markets.

C-COR's advertising platform is now deployed in more than 80 percent of all existing digital advertising markets, making it the leader in deployed IP advertising insertion markets. Charter recently deployed C-COR's IP advertising insertion solution, also referred to as Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) Digital Program Insertion (DPI), in its headquarter market of St. Louis. Adelphia added Cleveland, and six Comcast Spotlight markets- Boston, Denver, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, St. Paul - have deployed or plan to roll out C-COR's IP ad insertion solution.

Charter currently employs C-COR's ad insertion solution in over 50 percent of its footprint, including the operator's first addressable advertising launch in its Riverside, California market. Adelphia and Comcast currently employ C-COR's DPI solution in nine and 15 markets, respectively. Comcast, who has a Spotlight Master Agreement with C-COR, deployed the market's first IP delivered ad insertion solution when it upgraded to C-COR's GigE DPI in Philadelphia in April 2005.

"IP transport has been tremendously important to our business model for delivering next generation advertising cost effectively," said Paul Woidke, Vice President, Technology, Comcast Spotlight. "C-COR gives us an advertising platform that allows us the opportunity to be fully operational within a matter of weeks and offers exceptional scale and flexibility."

"C-COR's expertise in on demand and digital advertising, and its integrated single solution approach for dynamic advertising brings us many operational advantages and cost savings," said Marwan Fawaz, Senior Vice President and CTO for Adelphia Communications. "We are greatly reducing the number of ad servers required to serve both HD and analog, and drastically lowering our operational costs."

"C-COR provides us a reliable solution that is flexible to meet the shifting market demands," said Jim Heneghan, Charter's Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales. "With this expanded relationship with C-COR, we're well prepared for the next generation of digital advertising."

C-COR has more than 120 ad insertion deployments worldwide. C-COR's advanced advertising solution utilizes a highly scalable video streaming platform and provides operators with the channel counts they need to deliver cost-effective addressable advertising. C-COR's DPI server can insert standard definition and high definition MPEG-2 advertising as well as other content, such as news updates, local programming, or long-form "infomercials," into nearly 2,000 cable network channels from a single server. With its proven track record in IP digital ad insertion and on demand, C-COR is developing the next evolution of advertising with dynamic ad insertion for video-on-demand (VOD).

"As more operators continue to transition their systems to digital, they need solutions that can support their current needs as well as capitalize on the opportunities for advanced forms of advertising," said Michael Pohl, President, C-COR Global Strategies group. "C-COR has a solid track record in delivering a fully integrated and solid platform that is able to meet and grow with the operator's needs to support IP ad insertion and more advanced forms of dynamic advertising."
