ALBANY, NY – Spectrum News 1 today announced its new weekday and weekend news teams, naming JoDee Kenney, Casey Bortnick and Robert Guaderrama weekday co-anchors of the midday news, Marisa Jacques and Karen Edwards evening news co-anchors, Bortnick, Melissa Steininger and Mercedes Williams weekend morning news co-anchors, and Guaderrama alongside Camille Delongis anchoring the weekend evening news.

Co-anchors Julie Chapman and Dan Bazile, anchor/reporter Tamani Wooley, and meteorologist Heather Morrison, continue to wake up Capital Region viewers weekdays starting at 6 a.m. on “Your Morning on Spectrum News 1.”

“In addition to being excellent journalists and storytellers, our anchors are respected and beloved members of the Upstate New York community,” said Alexander Quince, Senior Director, News, Upstate New York. “Our new anchor lineup, in concert with our community-based multimedia journalists, will continue to deliver the local news and stories that are essential to our viewers across the Capital Region.”

Kenney, Bortnick and Guaderrama deliver a refreshed look at the local news and headlines, with area-specific forecasts from Morrison, weekdays starting at noon on “Your Afternoon on Spectrum News 1.”  While Kenney is a familiar face to Capital Region viewers, Bortnick is best known amongst Spectrum viewers in Buffalo, having anchored the network’s evening news since 2017. An Emmy Award-winning reporter, Guaderrama recently joined Spectrum Networks from FOX35 in Orlando, where he served as an anchor and reporter for the station.

Jacques, a Capital Region native, and Edwards, who previously anchored the evening news in Rochester, deliver a balanced mix of local news and headlines with hyper-relevant stories weeknights beginning at 5 p.m. on “Your Evening on Spectrum News 1.” Meteorologist Ryan Finn provides area-specific weather updates and sports reporter Jesse MacWilliam delivers high school and college sports reports.

On weekends, Bortnick, Steininger and Williams co-anchor the morning news starting at 6 a.m., while  Delongis and Guaderrama co-anchor the evening news starting at 5 p.m. Meteorologist Alec Zuch delivers area-specific weather reports in the mornings and meteorologist Jack Durkin provides local weather updates in the evenings.
