Charter Communications and Gemstar Announce Multi-Service Distribution Agreement

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 10, 2006--Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHTR - News) a leading broadband communications company, and Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. (NASDAQ: GMST - News), a leading media, entertainment and technology company, have entered into a long term multi-service agreement that will include Gemstar-TV Guide's networks, TV Guide Channel, TVG Network and TV Guide Spot, as well as "i-Guide" Interactive Program Guide (IPG).

As part of the agreement, Charter Communications will deploy Gemstar-TV Guide's i-Guide IPG, the cable industry's most widely-deployed Interactive Program Guide, currently available in approximately 14 million homes, in Motorola set-top boxes, and in Scientific Atlanta set-top boxes when i-Guide is available on that platform.
