“We invest in our employees so they can build a long and successful career working for Spectrum.”
Supporting a Highly Skilled Workforce
Paul Marchand oversees all human resources activity for Spectrum's 100% U.S.-based employees, who serve 37 million customers in 45 states as the leading broadband and video provider in the nation. Since joining the Company as Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer in 2015, Paul has led recruiting, learning and development, HR systems, and compensation and benefits. In 2023, his responsibilities expanded to include engagement and community impact, as well as corporate physical security.
Paul led the extensive workforce planning efforts for the 2026 transaction with Cox Communications, as well as the integration efforts following the Company’s 2016 transactions with Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks. Additionally, he supported the 2022 CEO succession, managed the Company’s COVID-19 response and served as a key architect of Spectrum's initiative to meaningfully expand investment in its employees. The initiative began with the 2020 announcement that the Company would raise its starting minimum wage to $20 an hour. More enhancements followed, including self-guided career growth opportunities, an expanded education benefit featuring tuition-free undergraduate degrees and professional certifications, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Together, these efforts spurred increases in talent retention, particularly among the frontline employees who constitute the majority of the Company’s workforce.
Paul’s Early Career
Paul came to Spectrum from PepsiCo, where he spent 12 years in increasingly senior HR positions and ultimately served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the North America beverages division. Earlier in his career, he held a variety of human resources roles with Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan and May Department Stores.
