Spectrum’s Robocall Efforts Earn Top Ratings

Share Article:

Unwanted spam calls are an ongoing nuisance and security risk for American consumers. In February 2025, U.S. consumers received more than 4.4 billion robocalls 1. Over the years, Spectrum has taken steps to reduce these calls and provide its Voice and Mobile customers with additional spam protection, and in return has earned an “A” in Services and an “A” Overall rating in a recent Public Interest Research Group Report2 on U.S. phone companies’ robocall protections.

Now Spectrum Voice customers have elevated protection against spam calls with raised default call-blocking levels with Call Guard, which blocks malicious incoming robocalls and flags suspicious telemarketing calls. New Spectrum Business Voice customers will be set to Call Guard’s medium setting to block known spam calls without affecting sales calls, and new Spectrum Residential Voice customers will be set to the high setting for maximum protection. Existing Spectrum Voice customers will be opted in to these settings over the next few months, and customers can adjust default settings themselves on the My Spectrum App or Spectrum.net at any time.

These changes are part of Spectrum’s ongoing effort to reduce unwanted calls and enhance security through advanced call-blocking technology. Call Guard settings for Spectrum Mobile, Spectrum Business Connect and Unified Communications (UC) products for Spectrum Business Mid-Market and Large Business are not impacted.

Spectrum is the #1 Voice provider in the Nation with nearly seven million voice customers. “We understand how important security is to our customers, and this update will deliver even more protection against the continued intrusion of robocalls,” said Danny Bowman, Executive Vice President Product.
