New York, NY – Spectrum News NY1 (NY1) today announced the debut of "Spotlight NY," a new 30 minute show that will take viewers inside New York’s arts and culture scene to showcase everything the city has to offer. Hosted by NY1 reporter Vivian Lee, "Spotlight NY" will connect viewers with the people, arts, food and architecture that make up New York.

Each episode will take viewers behind the scenes of iconic cultural institutions and historic venues that inspire and shape the city’s arts and cultural landscape. From the renovations of the family-owned St. George Theater on Staten Island to an installation at the Brooklyn Museum, "Spotlight NY" will explore the city borough by borough.

NY1’s new show will also feature "My NY," a segment with a notable figure or celebrity who will take viewers to a place in the city that has special meaning and reflects their love for New York City.

The "Food Adventures" segment will explore dining treasures to highlight unique and authentic food experiences that are present throughout the city. Each episode will also feature upcoming movies, events and high-profile premieres to help viewers fill in their social calendars.

In the premiere episode, "Spotlight NY" will feature two-time Emmy Award winner Sterling K. Brown’s return to his alma mater, New York University’s Tisch School of Arts. The first show will also provide a taste of Thai cuisine from a local restaurant in Queens and showcase “Whiteout,” the art light installation by artist Erwin Redl at Madison Square Park.
