Spectrum Networks to Air ‘LA: Under The Gun’ An Exclusive Documentary and Town Hall on Gun Violence in Los Angeles on March 5 at 8 PM

EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA – Spectrum Networks today announced it will present “LA: Under The Gun,” an exclusive documentary that will take an in-depth look at gun violence as a public health crisis affecting communities in Los Angeles. “LA: Under The Gun” will air on Spectrum News 1 on March 5 at 8PM, followed by a live 90-minute town hall.

Hosted by Spectrum News 1 Anchors Alex Cohen and Giselle Fernandez, the 30-minute special will explore the crisis through the eyes of citizens, doctors and trauma surgeons who are affected by the daily tragedy of gun-related violence. “LA: Under The Gun” will also tell the stories of gun violence victims from inner city neighborhoods and how they are banding together to make their communities safer.

The live town hall will host local citizens, advocates, doctors and policymakers; they will discuss the issues and potential solutions to combat gun-related violence in Los Angeles.

Town hall guests will include: LAPD Chief Michel Moore; Chief of Trauma Division (Surgery) Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Dr. Brant Putnam; California Assemblyman Mike Gipson; Hope and Heal Fund Director Brian Malte; UCLA Professor of Anthropology Dr. Jorja Leap; UCSB Psychology Professor Dr. Erika Felix; Homeboy Industries Mentor Miguel Lugo; Brady Campaign and Center to Prevent Gun Violence Program Manager Steve Lindley and Women Against Gun Violence advocate Rhonda Foster.
