Spectrum Networks to Air ‘Guns, the Law, and Change’ a 30-Minute Special on Gun-Related Violence and Laws in Florida on February 13 at 7 PM on Bay News 9 and News 13

A Live Hour-Long Town Hall Will Air Immediately Following

St. Petersburg, FL – Spectrum Networks today announced it will present, "Guns, the Law, and Change," a 30-minute special that will take an in-depth look at the personal stories of those affected by gun violence and the state-wide efforts being made to prevent gun-related deaths. "Guns, the Law, and Change" will air on Spectrum News Bay News 9 and Spectrum News 13 on February 13 at 7 PM, followed by a live one-hour town hall.

Hosted by Spectrum News Anchor Holly Gregory, the special will examine the stories of people affected by gun violence, including survivors of the most recent Florida school shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. "Guns, the Law, and Change" will also explore the implementation of the first major changes to Florida gun laws in two decades.

The hour-long town hall will bring lawmakers, law enforcement officials, gun rights advocates, students and school leaders together to discuss the progress made since the Parkland school massacre last year which sparked a student revolution procuring Florida legislators to act. Spectrum News Anchor Tammie Fields will co-host the town hall before a live audience at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, and Spectrum News Capitol Reporter Troy Kinsey will be live from the Historic Capitol in Tallahassee.

Town hall guests will include: Florida State Representative Mike Hill; Florida State Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith; Florida State Representative Randy Fine; Kendra Parris, Parris Law, P.A., focus on Risk Protection Orders; Carey Baker, Lake County property appraiser and owner of A.W. Peterson Gun Shop; Lori Alhadeff, mother of Parkland victim Alyssa Alhadeff; Fedrick Ingram, Florida Education Association; and Brandon Wolfe and Orlando Torres, Pulse survivors.

"Guns, the Law, and Change" will air on channel 9 in the Bay-area and channel 13 in Orlando. Spectrum News Bay News 9 and Spectrum News 13 are exclusive channels of Spectrum.
