NY1’s ‘On Stage’ Will Air Comprehensive Tony Season Recap and its Signature Show Leading up to the 73rd Annual Tony Awards®

New York, NY – Spectrum News NY1’s “On Stage,” New York City’s premiere theater show, will recap the 2018-2019 Broadway season with exclusive coverage and three special shows including “Live Red Carpet to the Tonys” leading up to the 73rd Annual Tony Awards®.
“On Stage” will kick off its coverage with a special edition on June 1 at 7:30 PM. The 30-minute show will feature “On Stage” Host Frank DiLella’s look back at the season with interviews from some of the shows that took Broadway by storm, and the actors who have earned Tony nominations. Stars featured from this year’s season will include Bryan Cranston of “Network,” as well as the casts and creative teams behind “Hadestown,” “Ain’t Too Proud,” “All My Sons,” “What the Constitution Means To Me,” “Tootsie,” “The Ferryman,” “Beetlejuice,” “The Prom,” and “King Kong.”
“On Stage” will air a special half-hour Tony Awards roundtable hosted by DiLella, and featuring NY1’s Emmy Award winning theater critic Roma Torre on June 8 at 7:30 PM. The show will also include expert commentary and predictions on who should take home Tony Awards.
On June 9 at 6 PM, DiLella and Tony nominee Ashley Park from “Mean Girls” will co-host NY1’s signature “Live Red Carpet to the Tonys” special preshow to the 73rd Annual Tony Awards®. NY1’s “Live Red Carpet to the Tonys” coverage at Radio City Music Hall will include 90 minutes of all-access interviews and live behind-the-scenes moments with the 2018-2019 Tony Awards class of nominees and presenters.
