Company Deploys New Multi-Room DVR Service in St. Louis

KIRKLAND, Wash., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Digeo, Inc. today announced Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR) has reached the 100,000 unit milestone in the deployment of Moxi(TM) Media Centers in Charter markets.

"The Charter DVR with Moxi is a true value-add to our customers, especially in view of today's highly competitive marketplace," said Barbara Hedges, Corporate Vice President of Video Product Management for Charter. "We've recently deployed multi-room DVR, which extends full Media Center functionality to multiple televisions, including the ability to pause and record live TV and view DVDs in the second room.

"The multi-room solution networks the Charter DVR with Moxi to an extension box using existing coaxial cable wiring within the home. Known as the Moxi Mate(TM), the multi-room solution enables Charter customers to easily share digital content, such as recorded programs, DVD content and photos, between two televisions within the same household," Ms. Hedges continued.

DVRs Available to More Than 85 Percent of Charter Digital Customers; New Markets and Service Offerings Launching As Well

Charter has deployed its DVR with Moxi offering in markets serving more than 85 percent of its 2.7 million digital customer base, with plans to launch in additional markets before the end of the year. Charter rolled out its new Moxi multi-room DVR service in St. Louis -- the first of several markets -- on August 31.

Media Center Applications: High Customer Appeal and an Emmy(R) Award

Charter's Media Center application offering includes Moxi games and photo applications. The games include popular parlor games and arcade favorites, while the photo player enables customers to access, store and view digital photos on their television.

The Moxi Media Center was recently recognized with an Advanced Technology Emmy award for the second year in a row. This year's award recognizes new innovative features in multi-room technology and digital lifestyle applications.

In other cable company markets where Moxi Media Center applications are available, roughly 20 percent of customers use the applications in any given week, according to Mike Fidler, CEO of Digeo.

"As our largest customer, Charter is of great strategic importance to us," Mr. Fidler said. "Digeo is committed to helping Charter achieves its business, operational and customer satisfaction goals from deploying the Charter DVR with Moxi. Deploying more than 100,000 units and expanding the Media Center applications offering is a ringing endorsement of what the Moxi Media Center can help cable operators achieve."
