GreatLand Connections Names Three Senior Executives

STAMFORD, Conn., Dec. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- GreatLand Connections Inc., today announced the selection of three senior executives in anticipation of its formation as a new publicly-traded company when Comcast Corporation completes its planned spinoff of systems serving approximately 2.5 million customers across the Midwest and MidSouth regions, subject to, among other things, the completion of Comcast's proposed merger with Time Warner Cable, receipt of certain  regulatory approvals and certain financing conditions.  Charter Communications will acquire an approximate one-third interest of GreatLand Connections. 

The new GreatLand Connections executives are Leonard J. Baxt, Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative and Legal Officer; Michele Roth,  Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer; and Keith A. Hall, Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs.  Together with previously announced President and CEO Michael Willner and CFO Matthew Siegel, the five designated members of the executive leadership team have over 125 years of combined experience in the cable industry.

Leonard J. Baxt, will serve as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative and Legal Officer. Mr. Baxt served as the Chairman of the Washington DC law firm of Dow Lohnes prior to its merger with Cooley Law, LLP last year. In addition to managing over 150 attorneys, Mr. Baxt personally counseled MSO's, programmers, and vendors in the cable industry on mergers, acquisitions, corporate governance, financings, and other corporate matters. In addition to his work as one of the country's top legal advisors to the telecommunications and media industries, Mr. Baxt also serves as Vice Chairman of the USO - Metropolitan, a service organization for servicewomen and men. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh.

Michele Roth will serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Ms. Roth is currently the Group Vice President of Human Resources for Time Warner Cable's Residential Division and will serve in this capacity until the closing of the Comcast-Time Warner Cable merger. She oversees the strategic direction and execution of employee initiatives for over 35,000 employees, including employee relations, employee development talent management, and workplace diversity. Prior to her current role, Ms. Roth served in other senior Human Resources positions at Time Warner Cable since 2002. Prior to TWC, Ms. Roth had senior HR responsibility at Direct TV Latin America where she spearheaded the establishment of a Network Operations Center in Buenos Aires. Ms. Roth is an Active member of the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC). Ms. Roth has a Bachelor of Science degree in Labor Relations from Le Moyne College and obtained her Masters in Human Resource Development from Clemson University.

Keith A. Hall will serve as Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs. Mr. Hall will have responsibility for Government Affairs, Corporate Communications, and Community Relations. Mr. Hall served as Senior Vice President for External Affairs and Deputy General Counsel at Insight Communications. At Insight, Mr. Hall was responsible for the negotiation and compliance with over 500 local franchises, multiple state level certificates, and developing strong partnerships with community leaders across the footprint. His department received industry awards for its corporate communications and awareness initiatives involving the transition to digital television. Mr. Hall has been a Congressional and Gubernatorial Aide. He is a graduate of Centre College and received a law degree from the University of Louisville.
