Charter to Build State-of-the-Art Broadband Network in Wisconsin Villages of Pardeeville and Fall River

MADISON, Wis. – Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) today announced a $1.7-million construction project to expand its fiber-rich network to the villages of Pardeeville and Fall River, bringing high-speed broadband and its suite of Spectrum services to more than 2,000 homes and businesses across these two rural communities.

Charter’s expansion will result in homes and businesses in Pardeeville and Fall River gaining access to the company’s full suite of Spectrum TV™, Internet™ and Voice™ services. Charter’s state-of-the-art broadband network delivers starting internet speeds of 100 Mbps, with speeds up to 300 Mbps available. The company plans to launch gigabit connections across virtually all its 41-state service area by the end of 2018.

“Charter Communications is pleased to bring our services to the villages of Pardeeville and Fall River and we appreciate the partnerships with state government and village officials,” says Ralph Newcomb, Area Vice President in Wisconsin. “These network buildouts reflect our commitment to serve an expansive list of Wisconsin communities — many of which are considered rural, with populations under 5,000.”

The State of Wisconsin continues to offer its support for broadband infrastructure investment, acknowledging the important role broadband plays in economic development and quality of life.

“Access to reliable, high-speed internet service is becoming a necessary part of life for Wisconsin’s families and businesses,” said Angie Dickison, State Broadband Director. “Charter’s broadband investments in Pardeeville and Fall River bring us another step closer to achieving Wisconsin’s goal of bringing broadband access to every corner of our state.”

Pardeeville Village President Bob Becker considers Charter’s network build in his community a major win for village residents and businesses.

“Pardeeville is open for business,” he says, citing the fact that two years ago, Charter expanded its fiber network to meet the needs of area commercial customers. One year later, discussions began with Charter to connect residents and small businesses within the village limits. “The people in Pardeeville are underserved with the current options, and I think this is going to be very good for Pardeeville. We’ve heard from several residents and small business owners who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Charter.”

Jeff Slotten, Village of Fall River President, says Charter’s decision to invest in Fall River is an asset for the village and its residents.

“Charter’s investment in our community provides alternatives for residents. With this effort, we can proudly market Fall River as a prime and growing community for families and businesses that want the best of both worlds: a small-town atmosphere with access to a growing industrial sector and comprehensive amenities for village residents, such as access to high-speed broadband.”

Charter’s construction in Pardeeville is wrapping up and the company will begin marketing its services in the weeks and months to come. Construction in Fall River is underway, and Charter plans to market services to area residents by the end of 2018.

Over the years, Charter has invested billions of dollars in infrastructure improvements, unleashing the power of an advanced, two-way, fully interactive fiber-rich network. By moving to this all-digital network, customers enjoy the most HD channels, more On Demand choices and the fastest internet speeds. Charter also features straightforward, nationally uniform pricing with no contracts or early termination fees, and is backed by a 30-day money back guarantee. The company continues to make investments in customer service by returning call center jobs to the U.S., insourcing its workforce and adding thousands of employees to meet growing customer demand.

In Wisconsin, the company has an extensive coverage area, serving customers in more than 775 communities – and more than 70 percent of those communities have populations under 5,000.  The company employs more than 3,725 employees in Wisconsin, and has office locations throughout the state, including major centers in Appleton, Fond du Lac and Milwaukee.
