LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 12, 2006--Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR) today announced that it is making it easier for its Los Angeles and Inland Empire customers to stay in touch with family and friends in Mexico.

Charter Telephone(TM) is introducing an unlimited calling plan to households in Charter's service areas in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire giving them the ability to call anywhere in Mexico, the contiguous United States, Canada and Puerto Rico for one low monthly price.

Customers can talk as much as they want, whenever they want, without concern about counting the minutes, for an introductory price of $59.99 per month. Customers can call 1-888-GET-Charter for offer details. This unlimited calling plan also includes 10 popular features such as free caller identification, voicemail, three-way calling, call forwarding, custom ring, speed dial and other features at no additional charge. Charter Telephone also provides customers 911 emergency service and directory listings.

"We're pleased to make it easy and affordable for Southern Californians to stay in touch with their families and friends in Mexico and elsewhere in the U.S.," said Eric Brown, Western Division President for Charter. "With one low rate per month, Charter Telephone customers can dispense with costly calling cards and rate-per-minute plans. All they have to do is pick up their home phone and dial direct," explains Brown. "There are no connection fees, hidden charges or long-term contracts. We don't place restrictions on when or where our customers can call in Mexico."

As with Charter's unlimited nationwide calling plan, it is easy to switch to Charter service. New customers can keep their current phone number with no service disruption, there is no new equipment to buy, and installation is free.

Charter Telephone is provided over Charter's upgraded, managed digital fiber network for transporting calls, rather than over the Internet. "With Charter Telephone, customers can rely on our commitment to provide the same high quality and reliable service they are accustomed to, but with more convenience, value and savings," said Phil Bellaria, Vice President of Charter Telephone Product Management.

"The introduction of Charter Telephone's unlimited Mexico calling package further solidifies our commitment to meeting customers' desire for simplicity, convenience and value from their telephone service."
