St. Louis - The appointment of Megan Delany as Senior Director and Legislative Counsel, Federal Government Affairs, for Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHTR) was announced today by David Andersen, Senior Vice President of Communications.
Ms. Delany joins Charter from the Joseph Group, where she was a consultant to technology and telecommunications companies. Previous to this, she served as Vice President of Legislative Affairs for XO Communications, and Vice President of Government Relations and Regulatory Counsel for Allegiance Telecom, Inc. Ms. Delany has also served in similar public policy related roles for the Telecommunications Industry Association, the former AT&T, and served on the Congressional staff of the House Committee on Commerce.
In making the announcement of Ms. Delany's appointment, Mr. Andersen said Ms. Delany will establish an office in Washington, D.C. to represent Charter before Congress, the FCC, and the Administration on all matters pertaining to broadband communications, including our video, Internet, and telephone initiatives. "At this time when the cable television industry is faced with increased public policy initiatives which could affect the way we do business in today's highly competitive marketplace, we're fortunate to have filed this key position with someone of Megan's caliber."
A graduate of the University of Richmond with a BA in Leadership Studies, Ms. Delany received her JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. She was a co-founder of Women In Telecom & Technology, a professional networking organization in Washington.
