Charter Names Dan Murphy Vice President of Engineering for Great Lakes Division

MADISON, WIS. – The appointment of Dan Murphy to Vice President of Engineering for the Great Lakes Division of Charter Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR) was announced today by Mike Haislip, Senior Vice President of Operations, Great Lakes Division. In his new role, Mr. Murphy will be responsible for all technical operations in the Great Lakes Division, which consists of Charter systems serving some 1.4 million customers in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

“Dan's vast knowledge of the ever-changing technical aspects of broadband communications make him an excellent addition to our Great Lakes team,” Mr. Haislip said. “As we expand the availability of new services such as video on demand and high-definition television, and explore other ways to leverage our state-of-the art network, Dan's considerable experience will be invaluable.”

Prior to joining Charter, Mr. Murphy served as the vice president of technical operations for Comcast Cable, previously AT&T Broadband, in Chicago for the last two years. Prior to that, he was the vice president of engineering for TCI Cablevision in Chicago and that company's director of network operations in Berlin, Conn. He also worked for ADC Telecommunications in Minnetonka, Minn., and for Rogers Cable Systems in Minneapolis.

A native of Minnetonka, Minn., Mr. Murphy served five years in the Navy and also holds a degree in Cable Television Communications from the Wadena Area Vocational Technical College in Wadena, Minn.
