MEDFORD, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2007--Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) today announced the launch of Charter Telephone(R) covering Medford, Ashland, Grants Pass and Klamath Falls, offering customers a new choice for residential telephone service and the opportunity for significant savings. This launch signifies Charter's continuing commitment to provide customers with high-quality and reliable communications services.

"Charter Telephone gives customers a new choice for telephone service. We also provide customers an opportunity to bundle their phone service with Charter Digital Cable(R) and Charter High-Speed(R) Internet for additional savings. The vast majority of our telephone customers bundle their cable and Internet because it's a great value, it's simple, and it's unique to Charter in Southern Oregon," said Michael O'Herron, General Manager for Charter's Southern Oregon operations.

"Over the past year, Charter has invested over a billion dollars in capital to serve our customers, including several million here in Southern Oregon, and we're pleased to now provide telephone service to complement our video and high-speed Internet services," said Mr. O'Herron. "Charter Telephone's rapid deployment and growth over the past year and a half, along with our commitment to deliver outstanding value and service, really make us a quality alternative to the traditional telephone provider, as well as a strong community partner.

"Telephone customers can retain their current phone number and don't have to purchase any new equipment. Charter Telephone can be added to a cable and high-speed Internet package for only $24.99 more per month. There's great long-term value and convenience in having one provider, and only one bill for all three services," Mr. O'Herron concluded.

Charter Telephone service includes unlimited nationwide calling; 10 popular calling features such as Call Waiting, Caller ID, Call Forwarding, and Voicemail; and enhanced 911 emergency service; all at no additional charge. New customers can keep their current phone numbers when they switch to Charter Telephone service, and calls can be made directly through any working in-home jack using the customers' existing telephones.

New customers can sign up for the Charter bundle including Charter Telephone's Unlimited plan, digital cable and high-speed Internet for as low as $99.97 per month, all on one bill. Charter also offers competitive international rates and packages. Professional installation for Charter Telephone is included at no extra charge. For more information, go to www.charter.com.

Charter currently serves more than 700,000 telephone customers nationwide, and Charter Telephone is now available to nearly eight million homes, with additional launches of the service planned.
