Charter Communications Renews Enhanced Television Agreement with OpenTV

San Francisco, CA -- NCTA, New Orleans, -- May 3, 2004 - OpenTV (NASDAQ-NMS: OPTV), one of the world's leading interactive television companies, announced today that Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR) has extended the term of its existing agreement with OpenTV for an additional year. OpenTV provides the application and enhanced television engine, OpenTV ProSync, to Charter that powers a suite of interactive television applications offered to over million Charter customers under the name Charter iTV. These Charter iTV channels provide access to on-demand news, weather, sports, finance, entertainment and games content. OpenTV ProSync enables enhanced television, interactive advertising, research, voting / polling applications, and real-time two-way commerce.
