Alternative to Traditional Phone Companies for Businesses

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2007--Charter Business(TM), a division of Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) today announced a redesign of its third-party distribution strategy in order to open channels for information technology, networking and telecommunications integrators for large and enterprise businesses.

"Charter Business appreciates the value our Channel Partners bring to the table, especially for large businesses," said Jim McGann, Corporate Vice President of Charter Business. "Channel Partners appreciate the ease with which they'll be able to integrate Charter Business' robust fiber-optic based services into their customers' network strategies."

The successful pilot for the Charter Business Channel Partners program took place in Charter's Wisconsin and Michigan service areas during the last 24 months, according to Mr. McGann. The Charter Business Channel Partnership Program is built to accommodate both IT/Networking/Telecommunications integrators and other network service providers such as cable multiple system operators (MSOs), regional telecommunications carriers, and competitive local exchange carriers (CLECS).

"The structure Charter Business is putting into place will support our Channel Partners and their customers," said Mr. McGann. "And we're already receiving positive feedback from the business community letting us know that they're ready and eager for an alternative to the phone companies."

Charter is expanding the Channel Partnership program by staffing channel managers and a channel support organization in its markets nationwide. A web portal for the Channel Partners Program is to be launched in the first quarter this year.
