Over 1,000 Hours of Football Available to Charter Customers

ST. LOUIS, Aug 30, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- As football fans fill stadiums this fall, Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) customers will be cheering the best in football delivered to their homes. Charter will provide more than 250 college match-ups and approximately 100 National Football League games during the 2007 football season, as well as football on demand. Look to http://www.charter.com/football to find your favorite Big Ten(R) team schedule available on Charter, and catch the updates throughout the football season.

Many of the best Big Ten Conference games are available on Charter during the regular football season, including Notre Dame at Penn State, Iowa at Wisconsin, Ohio State at Minnesota, Ohio State at Purdue, Wisconsin at Penn State, Michigan State at Ohio State, Michigan at Illinois, Ohio State at Penn State, Pittsburgh at Michigan State, and Central Michigan at Purdue.

The following non-conference Big Ten games during the early weeks of the season are also available on Charter: Michigan State at Notre Dame, Notre Dame at Michigan, Washington State at Wisconsin, University of Alabama-Birmingham at Michigan State, Missouri at Illinois, and Oregon at Michigan.

"Charter has always been and remains the source that fans turn to for football and all sports, whether it's college, professional or even high school competition, that you can't get anyplace else," said Cathy Fogler, Vice President and General Manager of Video for Charter. "With the clarity of high-definition programming, Charter's customers feel like they're in the front row at the stadium. And with the added benefit of Charter's Digital Video Recorder service, our customers won't miss a minute of the action."

Charter provides an incredibly broad range of college football to its customers, on both a regional and national basis. This includes more than 250 games from the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, C-USA, MWC, Pac-10, and SEC throughout the entire college football season via Charter's broadcast partners ABC, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNU, and CSTV. Additional college football match-ups are carried by the regional sports networks provided by Charter.

"We already offer the best of the Big Ten match-ups to our customers and would welcome the opportunity to deliver even more from the Big Ten Conference on our sports tier for the most avid fans," Ms. Fogler said. The Big Ten Network(R) and NFL Network(R) are seeking to have Charter carry their programming on the company's expanded basic tier, which would result in increased costs for all of Charter's 5.4 million video customers. "While there are some Charter customers who are avid football fans and would like to have the Big Ten Network and NFL Network, we don't believe it is appropriate for all customers to be impacted by the costs of these networks. Our customers have football available to them 24/7, and that really is something to cheer about. Charter's top priority is to provide value to our customers through exceptional programming and a quality customer experience," said Ms. Fogler.

As an integral part of the communities it serves, Charter provides high-school games on a local basis in many areas. College highlights and SportsSkool, for those who want to get in the game themselves, are also available from Charter OnDemand. The number of games and programming vary by location and are subject to change. For more information and regularly updated scheduled football games on Charter, visit http://www.charter.com/football.
