Charter Appoints Robert A. Quigley Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2005--The appointment of Robert A. Quigley as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHTR) was announced today by Neil Smit, President and CEO.

Mr. Quigley joins Charter from Quigley Consulting Group. Prior to this he was an Executive Vice President of America OnLine, and Chief Operating Officer of its Consumer Marketing Division. He was President and CEO of Newfield Publications, a publisher and direct-to-consumer marketer of children's magazines and book clubs; and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Field Corporation, an investment and management company owned by Marshal Field V, focused on the publishing and communication industries. Mr. Quigley began his career with LIFE Magazine in their circulation and direct response marketing departments.

In making the announcement of Mr. Quigley's appointment, Mr. Smit said, "Bob is a leading expert on all aspects of continuity and subscription based businesses, having expanded acquisition channels and developed sophisticated analytical and modeling tools while at AOL. His extensive marketing, new product development, strategic, and financial planning experience make him a valuable addition to our senior team."

A graduate of Wesleyan University with a BA in History, Mr. Quigley is a member of the Direct Marketing Association Board of Directors and has been involved in a variety of not for profit organizations working to benefit children at risk and local education systems.
