Charter Appoints Marwan Fawaz as Chief Technology Officer

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 2006--Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR) announced today the appointment of Marwan Fawaz as Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Fawaz's appointment, which is expected to be effective after the close of the Adelphia transactions, will coincide with the departure of Wayne Davis, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, for personal reasons. Mr. Davis joined Charter in 2001 as Vice President of Engineering for the Company's former Western Division and became CTO in 2004. Mr. Fawaz and Charter's Engineering team and related functions will continue to be based out of Denver. In order to help ensure a smooth and seamless transition, Mr. Davis will serve as a consultant to Charter.

Mr. Fawaz has over twenty years of experience in the broadband communications industry, having most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Adelphia Communications, where he was responsible for the company's overall technology development and deployment. Mr. Fawaz, who joined Adelphia in 2003, was instrumental in restoring the company's broadband business, including financial, operational and technical performance. Prior in his career, Mr. Fawaz was Regional Vice President of Operations of Charter Communications' Northwest region where he oversaw overall business operations. He has also served as Investment Specialist/Technology Analyst at Vulcan, Chief Technology Officer at Infinity Broadband, and Vice President Engineering and Operations at MediaOne.

Mr. Fawaz has both a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and a master of arts degree in electrical/communication-engineering from California State University - Long Beach. His focus of education was in the areas of telecommunications, satellite communications, RF link analysis, signal processing, power systems, and engineering economics.
