Charter Appoints Grier Raclin Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 26, 2005--The appointment of Grier C. Raclin as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHTR) was announced today by Neil Smit, President and Chief Executive Officer.

"Grier has a wealth of experience in legal and regulatory compliance, strategic business development, complex financial transactions, and synergy attainment, making him a valuable addition to our senior management team," Mr. Smit said. With over 25 years' experience in the legal profession, Mr. Raclin most recently served as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Savvis Communications Corporation, a provider of IT outsourcing services based in St. Louis, where he was responsible for all legal and regulatory affairs, facilities management and procurement. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Global TeleSystems, Inc., a London-based provider of voice and data communications services in Europe, the CIS and Asia. Mr. Raclin was also Vice Chairman and Managing Partner of Gardner, Carton & Douglas in Washington, D.C. and Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Raclin received a B.A. degree with honors in Philosophy from Northwestern University and a J.D. degree from Northwestern University School of Law, and attended the University of Chicago School of Business Executive Program.
