A New Beginning in New Milford
Share Article:
In October, 25 Charter Communications employees came together on a brisk, sunny Saturday to volunteer their time and talent to help make a difference for a New Milford, Connecticut homeowner named Linda. Working in conjunction with the local affiliate of our Charter our Community national nonprofit partner, Rebuilding Together, volunteers performed critical home repairs, including carpentry, installation of new light fixtures, gutter cleaning, painting, landscaping, removal of debris from the yard and basement and installing a new mailbox.
Clason, Linda’s son, was on site helping the Charter Communications and Rebuilding Together teams “I am grateful you were able to help myself and my mother,” said Clason. “We have wanted to do these home renovations for years. We are really appreciative of Charter’s help.”
“I am proud of the Charter volunteers who took time away from their families, providing a positive experience they will not soon forget.” said Greg Garabedian, Charter Area Vice President-New England. “Charter our Community is an inspiring company-wide initiative making a positive impact in homes across the county.”
“This is my third Charter our Community project and it is inspiring and heartwarming the impact we are making on the homeowners,” said event coordinator and Senior Manager, Field Communications Heidi Vandenbrouck. “It was a pleasure working side by side with my Charter colleagues to helping a homeowner in need. Giving back and bettering the community is a wonderful feeling of pride and accomplishment. ”
“I am so very honored that I could play even a small role helping someone in need,” said Spectrum Business Supervisor, Client Coordinator Dianne Lewis. I wish I could do more!”
At the end of the day, it was obvious Linda’s New Milford home was now safer and healthier, thanks to the compassion of Charter our Community volunteers making for an unforgettable experience, providing hope and making a difference to helping a family in need
