2019 Spectrum Digital Education Grant Recipients Feature Several Repeat Winners

Spectrum championed digital literacy last month, announcing our 2019 Spectrum Digital Education Grant recipients. Three deserving nonprofits were awarded grants for a third straight year in 2019, and another seven received grants for a second time.

The Urban League of Kansas City, E2D Inc in Davidson, N.C., and The Oasis Institute in St. Louis each earned grant funding for a third year. Digital Bridge (Milwaukee), Louisville Urban League, Kramden Institute Inc. (Durham, N.C.), League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Loaves Fishes & Computers Inc (Salinas, Calif.), St. Louis Arc and The LaunchCode Foundation (St. Louis) all became two-time grant recipients in this latest round.

“Charter is proud to award a third year of funding to some incredibly worthwhile organizations focused on digital literacy,” said Rahman Khan, Vice President of Community Impact for Charter Communications. “The selected organizations will help further our mission to provide communities with the necessary tools to grow and prosper in the digital age.”

The grants are part of a $5 million commitment to provide digital education in Charter communities through financial grants, PSAs, and webinars to local nonprofit organizations. We received more than 200 eligible grant applications and awarded grants to 31 nonprofits.
